A unique opportunity to sponsor a scholarship for a student and change their path in life…

Modeled after the personal experience of Anthony Quinn, our scholarships for after-school and summer arts programs offer high school students the opportunity to further their artistic talent by exposing them to a higher level of learning their craft and by allowing them to be surrounded by other creative young people with the same passionate interest in that particular field.

Very often a 3-week or 6-week summer immersion is all a teenager needs to change the course of his or her life. Many programs exist, worldwide, that provide young adults with this opportunity – although the costs are prohibitive. The Anthony Quinn Foundation allows qualified students to select the program they wish to attend. Entries are evaluated by a jury of professional artists and art educators appointed by the Anthony Quinn Foundation board of directors. In selecting the winning entries, jurors take into account a number of factors, including: quality of submitted work, teacher recommendations, demonstrated commitment and financial need.

In 2010 over 40 entries were received from a nationwide pool of applicants. Although six scholarships were awarded totaling over $15,000, there is clearly a need for more. In 2011 the Anthony Quinn Foundation is offering the unique opportunity for you to Sponsor a Scholarship – as a corporation or as an individual – or in the name of a loved one. 100% of donated funds will go directly towards helping a student attend the program of his/her choice. The name of the donor will forever be connected with the individual scholarship winner. In addition to being recognized at the Anthony Quinn Foundation annual awards ceremony, the donor will be acknowledged on the winner’s profile page.

The minimum donation for a scholarship named on your behalf is $1,000 for an individual and $3,000 for a corporation. Our scholarships are awarded in four disciplines; Visual Arts & Design, Performing Arts, Media Arts and Literary Arts. You may choose the discipline you wish to have your scholarship awarded in or allow the panel of judges to decide where it is most needed.
